Mosler MT900GT3 carbon-fibre bodyshell

Autoclaved carbon-fibre bodywork is employed throughout, Kevlar® reinforced locally for resistance to abrasion and stone/impact damage to provide the lightest, stiffest and most heat-resistant aerodynamic envelope to the mechanical structure beneath. To make the most of the airflow beneath the car, the full-length underbody starts with a pitch sensitivity reducing front splitter/underwing and safety structure and ends in an efficient rear venturi. The side and upper surfaces are sculpted to provide effective radiator, brake and cockpit cooling while minimising drag and assisting airflow to the full-width adjustable rear wing. Good overall downforce and balance is achieved, ideal for differing tracks and grip conditions, and – together with the well developed suspension geometry and inherently better mid-engine weight distribution and low c of g - aids in the vitally important reduction of tyre performance degradation between pit-stops.

The Mosler MT900 series of road cars are unique in their utilisation of aerospace-certified, carbon-fibre skinned aluminium honeycomb composite panels, laser cut and bonded together to form an efficient core structure that results in a much lighter, stiffer, and stronger chassis.

Tests carried out in the USA as part of the MT900 road car’s stringent US certification process produced rollover figures that exceeded anything the testing agency had previously experienced. Derived directly from this crash-tested monocoque, in its racing forms the MT900 competition coupé benefits from the addition of a mandatory safety cage, and its racing safety record as well as results has been exemplary.

Front and rear subframes rigidly attached to the tub make maintenance access easy and facilitate crash damage repair.
